Nigeria Independence @ 59: I-FEE Distributes Education Materials to Students in Lagos

Education is a major sector for nation building and the development of many nations depend largely on their investment in education. In Nigeria education sector has suffered set back due to inability of different government of the country to invest more to improve the sector.

In commemoration of Nigeria 59th independence celebration, the education-focused NGO Itohan Foundation for Education Empowerment (I-FEE) in carrying out her corporate social responsibility, on Monday embarked on a major distribution of notebooks and other basic necessities to students of the Highland College, Ogba, Lagos state, Nigeria.

The students received pep talk on the importance of education by the founder of the organisation, Itohan Olomu-Agbodo Esq (Mrs), as well as an anti-corruption/anti-cultism lecture by Amb. Roy Okhidievbie, a security expert.

The students shared what they gained at the end of the lecture. Principal of the school, Mr. Opebiyi, expressed his gratitude to the organisation.

The organisation thereafter shared out their good tidings with the excited students.
This marks the fifth major distribution by I-FEE within and outside Lagos.


BACKGROUND

Itohan Foundation for Education Empowerment (I-FEE) is a non-governmental and non-profit making body established in April 2017.
The aim of the foundation is to empower children to focus on the pursuit of education by instilling in them a sense of excellent academic competitiveness.
As the sages say, reading maketh a man. With one more child picking up a book to read, the reading culture is boosted and the society becomes a better place.

The foundation will engage in periodic prize giving, commendation/ recognition awards to students and teachers in primary and secondary schools.
The categories will include:
1. The Best English Student�
2. The Best Mathematics Student�
3. Most Punctual Student�
4. Neatest/ Best Dressed Student�
5. The Most Impactful Teacher�, among others…..

The foundation also collaborates with other societies in various child empowerment programmes and awareness campaigns and encourage organisations to carry out corporate social responsibility projects with education as priority.

MAIDEN EDITION


Agidingbi Primary School, Lagos Nigeria.

I-FEE concluded her maiden distribution of writing materials to pupils of Agidingbi Primary School, Lagos on Thursday the 4th of October, 2018.
The distribution was in commemoration of Nigeria’s 58th independence. Teachers and pupils of the school were excited to partake of the good will of the foundation.
